FOCUS AI
This speaker is challenging the efficient market hypothesis — arguing that psychological factors play a much bigger role than most models account for.
What's a concrete example?
Why do people panic-sell during crashes if markets are "efficient"?
FOCUS AI
Great question. In 2008, markets dropped 40%+ even though the underlying fundamentals hadn't changed that fast — driven by fear and forced selling. If markets were perfectly efficient, that wouldn't happen.

Yes, completely free. No accounts, no credit cards, no trial periods. We don't run ads, sell your data, or charge for premium features. It's a small project built for learners, sustained by a passion for focused learning — and a few cups of coffee.

FocusTube runs three AI providers in parallel and uses the fastest response. The AI is given the video's title, channel, and category, plus your watch history and interests. It can ask you questions, summarize key points, challenge ideas, and recommend what to watch next — all in natural conversation.

The core catalog is 334 hand-curated long-form videos across 13 topics — business, documentaries, science, programming, history, and more. New videos are auto-discovered via YouTube search and auto-categorized; AI-generated and low-quality content is filtered out.

All your watch history, points, chats, and skills live in your browser's localStorage. Nothing is sent to a server. AI chats are sent to the AI provider for the duration of the request and then forgotten. Watch Together rooms exist only while the room is open.

At 20%, 50%, and 80% of a video, FocusTube asks a contextual question about what you just watched. Answer it correctly and you earn Focus Points. Get it wrong and the AI explains. It's a small interruption that dramatically increases how much you actually retain.

Yes. The whole app is responsive — desktop, tablet, and phone all work. The AI panel, watch together rooms, and video grid all adapt. On mobile, the AI moves into a slide-up panel so it doesn't crowd the player.
